Marin County high school students "on the job" with an engineer from the Golden Gate Highway and Transportation District as part of the annual Architecture, Engineering and Construction Job Shadow Program.
The Marin County School to Career Partnership brings together schools, businesses, and organizations to create exciting educational opportunities for students. The Partnership is a project of the Marin County Office of Education working on behalf of the school districts in our community. The Partnership serves students from diverse academic, social, and economic backgrounds. On-the-job experiences allow students to explore potential careers, think about their future educational goals, and develop skills necessary for success in the workplace. The Partnership collaborates with over 200 businesses and organizations, providing learning experiences for the students of today while they are developing their skilled workforce of tomorrow.
Summer Internship and Career Pathway Academy
The School to Career Partnership (STC) and College of Marin (COM) are proud to announce the joint implementation of a new Summer Internship Program and Career Pathway Academy for high school students that will provide both career exploration opportunities and college credit. Students accepted into the program will spend nine hours per week at a worksite with a mentor, and will be required to enroll at the College of Marin to take a series of four two-hour Career Pathway Academy classes at the Kentfield Campus over four weeks during the internship. A culminating presentation event will be held at the Marin County Office of Education July 21-22, 2016. Students successfully completing the COM class and the internship can obtain 1.5 CSU transferable credits. COM applications and STC applications are available from school site liaisons.
