The Marin Regional Occupational
Program (R.O.P.) is committed to leadership in developing and
providing quality vocational education needs to Marin County
residents 16 years of age and older. R.O.P. closely collaborates
with business in program design; teaches, reinforces and enriches
core academic curricula; prepares students for gainful employment;
provides real world applications of skills that will connect
students between their present activities and future lives; and,
prepares students to meet the needs and expectations of employers
today and in the future. R.O.P.
is a partner in the State and County CalWORKs reform. The R.O.P.
also coordinates efforts, programs and resources to help implement
and support the Marin County School to Career Program.
The Marin County School to Career Partnership provides career
exploration and education opportunities to the students of Marin
County. Collaborating with Marin County school districts and more
than 200 businesses and organizations, the Partnership takes
learning beyond classroom walls and into the community through
internships, job shadows and other programs connecting what students
are studying to real experiences in the workplace. The Partnership
also connects schools with resources in the community to provide
support for the development of new courses, projects and special
programs for students. We strive to reach all students, whatever
their academic, social or economic background, and to inspire them
to think about and plan for their future educational and career
goals.
