The Ripple Effect - Marin Child Abuse Council - Framework for Enhancing Trauma Informed Practice - November 9, 2017
This all day workshop presents an integrative framework for understanding and communicatingh across systems about how trauma can affect a child, a family, and a system using metaphore, visual models, common language, and case example and shows: 1) the domains of functioning affected by trauma; 2) the mechanisms through which trauma affects development, and 3) intervention pathways. Cannabis and Community: Info & Issues for Children & Families - November 20, 2017
Presented by the Marin Communications Forum First 5 Marin, this meeting will feature Dr. Matthew Willis, Marin County Public Health Officer, who will address health issues related to cannabis and: pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, second and third hand smoke in the family environment, "edibles" that look like candy, brain development (from infants to young adults) as well as a summary of the legal situation and regulations and general outlook of cannabis in Marin County. Peer Summit 2017 - December 1, 2017
Healthy Teens Marin presents their 22nd annual Peer Summit at College of Marin on December 1st. This is a day of youth-led workshops to help youth gain skills and thrive in school and in their community. They will learn about diversity and inclusion, healthy choices, healthy relationships, and much more. All students are encouraged to attend.
