  • Speech & Language Specialists Professional Development Series - 2018 - Attached please find information on Professional Development trainings for your Speech and Language Specialists.  There are some trainings that may also be beneficial for your Resource Specialists and other special education staff.  There is no cost for Marin County specialists.

    EL Excellence Every Day - February 8, 2018 - Educators teaching grades 3-9 and Instructional Coaches are encouraged to attend this workshop.  Learn a four-step sequence to engage ELs, and all students, in reading critically to argue and justify with text evidence.  Understand how to integrate ELD for content teachers.  See flyer to register.

    CAASPP Interim Workshop - February 13, 2018 - Participate in part two of this workshop on February 13th, which will focus on math.  MCOE and teachers from across the county will learn how to administer and dig into the CAASPP Interim Assessments, and learn how to use the data to guide daily instruction to meet students where they are in order to support their next steps.

    3 Dimensions of NGSS for K-8 Teachers - February 15, March 1, and May 10, 2018 - This series of collaborative workshops for digging into NGSS is intended for TK-8 Teachers, Instructional Coaches and Intervention Teachers and includes: Use of Phenomena for student engagement; Inquiry based lessons; 3-Dimensions of Standards.  See flyer for more information and registration.

    Mindfulness - February 28, 2018 - Ronen Habib will lead this Mindfulness series - February 28 and March 28.  The Mindfulness workshops include techniques to: Increase resilience for yourself and your students; nurture a more positive classroom culture; cultivate more focus and engagement; equip your students with skills to manage stress; and, motivate even the most reluctant learner.  For additional information and registration, please see the attached flyer.

    Strategies for Working Collaboratively with Others - March 2, 2018 - This course provides the specific tools you need to take control, reduce stress, raise morale and increase productivity at your worksite. Recognize and learn how to respond to each of the 9 most difficult personality types; control your own anxieties, fears, and anger while confronting difficult people; Neutralize the effects of negativity, hostility and agression.  See the attached for registration information.

    Interactive Teaching Tools for Today's Teacher - March 6, 2018 - This workshop is part of the Ed Tech Series with Dan Phillips, CCC-SLP.  This workshop will highlight some "old school" ways of teaching and why we need to alter these approaches to teach the new modern student.  See attached for registration and upcoming workshops.

    History-Social Science Curriculum Toolkit Workshop - March 13, 2018 - Teachers, instructional coaches, curriculum directors, Administrators - join the Marin County Office of Education in a Toolkit Training Workshop.  Be trained in the new adoption toolkit to review current instructional materials used as well as new proposed materials.  Review CA State Board of Education approved instructional materials for K-8 and K-12 curriculum and supplemental resources from publishers.

    History-Social Science Curriculum Fair - March 20, 2018 - Designed for teachers, instructional coaches, curriculum directors and Administrators.  Explore the materials and meet with the publishers of the California adopted curriculum and the supplementary curriculum.  See attached flyer for registration and more information.
