Police Interrogation of Students 15 Years of Age or Younger
Please see the attached letter from Carl Corbin, General Counsel of School & College Legal Services of California, regarding Senate Bill 395. This Bill will require that prior to an interrogation by a law enforcement officer (including a school resource officer), and prior to a waiver of any Miranda rights, a student 15 years of age or younger must be allowed to consult with legal counsel and the consultation may not be waived.
