Overview

  • The MCOE Early Childhood Education Stipend program is designed to increase the retention and academic preparedness of early childhood educators working in early care and education programs in Marin County. Participants are awarded stipends in recognition of advancement toward higher education degrees and child development permits and completion of professional growth trainings. The program supports development and leadership skills of the early childhood education workforce, in order to maintain high quality programs.

Eligibility

  • ACADEMIC

    Academic stipends are available to:

    • Early Care and Education staff that are employed in a program participating in Marin Quality Counts at a Step 2 or Step 3 (QRIS) level.
    • Early Care and Education staff that work in a Title 5 classroom with children, ages birth to school-age.
    • Applicant is employed and working at least 20 hours per week in an early care and education classroom or is a program leader throughout the school year.

     

    PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

    Professional Development stipends are available to:

     

    • Participants in the 2019-2020 Teaching Pyramid Framework Cohort at Marin County Office of Education.
    • Participants in the 2019-2020 Anti-Bias and Trauma Informed Practice in ECE Cohort at Marin County Office of Education.
    • Applicant is employed and working at least 20 hours per week in an early care and education classroom or is a program leader throughout the school year.
