Welcome back from a nice two week break.  Hope it was relaxing and rejuvenating.  This month our theme is physical science and looking at how matter can change, such as in cooking.  We talked about how liquids and solids can change form.  For example, when you combine eggs, water, oil and flour, all of the ingredients magically turn into a cake!!!  Of course we had to try that out and it was a success.  We will be discussing physical and chemical changes more and experimenting with cooking throughout the month, especially in the rainy weather.

This week we continued our discussion on the changes food can take on when we cut, shred, peel, and put food in hot or cold water.  We tried an experiment with this by putting buoillon cubes and sugar in hot and cold water and seeing which dissovled faster.  Tracy, our new Youth In Arts mentor started his week.  We also had a nice visit from Isa our favorite dog.

Hello everyone!!  It was great to have a dry week, so we worked in our garden with Avid class.  We also read more about physical and chemical changes in the kithen.  We experimented with cooking oatmeal in the microwave and toasting bread in the toaster.  What a delicious theme this month has been!  Tracy our Youth In Arts mentor come in and we made kites to kick off the Spring season.
