Marin County Trustee Training on May 11, 2021
Marin County Office of Education is hosting a workshop for school district trustees, superintendents and chief business officials via Zoom on May 11, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Robert Henry, Esq. and Terena Mares, Deputy Superintendent will present information on the Brown Act: Closed Sessions and COVID-19 Resources for School Districts. 2020-21 Second Interim Budget Review Letters
We are finalizing our AB1200 review of Districts' Second Interim budget reports. We will be emailing draft letters to superintendents and district business officials no later than April 14, 2021 for review with final letters to be issued by the statutory deadline of April 16. As always, we appreciate your review and quick turnaround.
2020-21 Second Period (P2) Attendance Reporting
For the 2020-21 fiscal year, school districts are not required to collect attendance data. However, for 2020-21 P2 school districts must still provide the Class Size penalties report in the principal apportionment data collection software. This information should be submitted to the Marin County Office of Education via an export file with certified attendance forms no later than April 20, 2021. See attached Business Bulletin for details.
2019-20 Audit Reports
We are completing our review of 2019-20 Audited financial statements March 31, 2021. We expect to have draft letters to superintendents and district business officials on April 30, 2021 requesting corrective action plans to resolve any findings or recommendations.

California School Reopening Dashboard
All districts have successfully entered their data into the CA School Reopening Dashboard as well as subsequent weeks since the initial upload on January 25, 2021. As a reminder this upload will be required every other week with the next submission April 19, 2021. This requirement is in response to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) order CDPH order from January 14, 2021 requiring all LEAs (as well as charter and private schools) to submit data on how student instruction is being provided.

SAVE THE DATE Parcel Tax Administration Training | May 26, 2021 | 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The annual parcel tax administration training for district staff will be provided by the County of Marin on May 26,2021 . This information will be circulated to the District Business Officials and Superintendent's Secretaries. See attached flyer for more information.

Equity 2 Transformation (E2T): The next Equity 2 Transformation session with Lori Watson is scheduled for June 17, 2021 from 8:30 a.m.. to 3:00 p.m.. This one-day session is designed to help participants to develop the foundational tools to discuss race, elevating racial consciousness and the impact of race on their lives and work. CAPTAIN EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES (EBPs) CAPTAIN Bridges will be hosting two upcoming trainings on Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs): reinforcement and visual supports. The selected EBPs are focused intervention practices that have evidence of efficacy in promoting positive outcomes for learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Reinforcement EBPs - Thursday, April 22nd 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Reinforcement is the application of consequences after skills or behavior occurs that increase the learner’s use of the skills or behavior in future situations. Reinforcement is a foundational evidence-based practice that is almost always used with other evidence-based practices including prompting, discrete trial teaching, functional communication training, and naturalistic intervention.
Visual Support EBPs - Wednesday, May 19th 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visual supports can be used as concrete cues that provide information about an activity, routine, or expectation and/or support skill demonstration. Some examples of visual schedules that will be reviewed include visual schedules, activity schedules, work systems, graphic organizers, visual cues, and scripts.
