Class Focus: Fuel Systems, Engine Performance & Electrical
Location: Terra Linda High School, Auto Shop - 320 Nova Albion Way, San Rafael, CA 94903
Dates: Tuesdays: January 14 - May 20, and two Saturdays.
Times: 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays; and 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays
Age Group: High school students, recommended age 16 or older.
Cost: Free
Description: Students obtain basic automotive repair skills such as engine mechanics, cooling systems, brakes, body repair, painting, and upholstery. They explore how the automobile has impacted American culture and society. They learn about the classic car industry, including car shows, exhibitions, and rally and race driving. They will be able to identify career paths related to the appreciation and preservation of automobiles.

ROP Auto - Terra Linda
Course Title: ROP Automotive Technology (Beginning and Advanced)

Dates: Fall and Spring Semesters, following the Terra Linda HS calendar
Age Group: High school students, recommended age 16 or older
Description: Students receive an understanding of mechanical systems operation, gain proficiency in service skills, and practice professionalism. They receive instruction in electrical circuits and computer diagnosis, cooling systems, diagnostic testing, basic mechanics, wheel alignment, shop procedures, smog testing, general service, and fuel system diagnosis and repair. Beginning and Advanced levels articulate with College of Marin. This program is certified by the Automotive Technical Training Standards and students who qualify may receive an ATTS-approved certificate.

ROP Auto - Tamalpais
Course Title: ROP Automotive Technology (Beginning and Advanced)

Age Group: High school students, recommended age 16 or older.
Description: Beginning Automotive Technology teaches students about simple vehicle repair and maintenance, and covers topics such as basic vehicle systems, preventive maintenance, repairs, tool use, shop safety, and equipment use. Advanced Automotive Technology increases technical skills with in-depth studies of automotive systems, theory, complex troubleshooting, and complex repairs. Beginning and Advanced levels articulate with College of Marin.
