BCT-A
Course Title: Intro to BCT-A (Construction, Carpentry, Roofing, and Painting)
Dates/Class Schedule: January 8 - May 21, Wednesdays from 3:00-7:00 p.m.
Location: The Marin CTE Center, Terra Linda High School, 320 Nova Albion Way, San Rafael, CA 94903
Description: Intro to Building and Construction Trades is a free semester-long course open to Marin high school students that provides an overview of several trades careers. The course will focus on Construction, Carpentry, Roofing, and Painting. Students will learn basic skills and engage in hands-on projects while exploring postsecondary education and career paths in each trade. Students who successfully complete the course will receive high school CTE elective credit. No experience necessary.
BCT-B
Course Title: Intro to BCT-B (Electrical, Plumbing, Welding, and HVAC)
Dates/Class Schedule: January 9 - May 22, Thursdays from 3:00-7:00 p.m.
Location: The Marin CTE Center, Terra Linda High School, 320 Nova Albion Way, San Rafael, CA 94903
Description: Intro to Building and Construction Trades - B is a free semester-long course open to Marin high school students that provides an overview of several trades careers. The course will focus on Electrical, Plumbing, Welding, and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC). Students will learn basic skills and engage in hands-on projects while exploring postsecondary education and career paths in each trade. Students who successfully complete the course will receive high school CTE elective credit. No experience necessary.

ROP Construction Technology
Location: Redwood High School
Dates: January 8 - May 21, 2025
Times: Wednesdays, 5:00-9:00 p.m.
Age Group: High school students and adults, with priority given to high school students, recommended age 16 or older.
Description: This course, co-sponsored by the Marin Builders Association, covers the basics of building a structure. Topics include green building practices, job site, and tool safety, framing, plumbing, electrical, windows and doors, roofing, and blueprint reading. Craftsmanship is emphasized. Students learn how to safely use standard tools and machinery to practice basic operations. The hands-on training, with the assistance of local professionals, enables students to build a tool shed that can be sold to the public. Qualified students may obtain a certificate of Skill Saw proficiency. Students may qualify for a summer internship with a construction professional.
Redwood High School students should speak with their counselors about enrolling. Students from other schools or adults please contact your School to Career Liaison.
North Bay Construction Corps
Location: Terra Linda High School
Dates: January 14 - May 20, 2025
Times: Tuesdays, 6:00-9:00 p.m., and four Saturdays (dates to be announced)
Age Group: High School Seniors and recent graduates looking for full-time employment this summer

Description: The North Bay Construction Corps (NBCC) is an afterschool basic construction training program for seniors in their last semester of high school. Classes are taught by local contractors and construction managers. Participants are introduced to a variety of trades and earn certifications in Personal Protective Equipment and CPR/First Aid. Applicants must be willing to work in the trades in summer of 2025, have a valid California driver's license, authorization to work in California, and be at least 18 years old by June 15, 2025.
