Evidence Based Data Exchange

What is the Evidence Based Data Exchange?

Marin County P-3 work began in 2010 with the goal of “closing the achievement gap” and building relationships with PreK-3 systems within four Districts and eleven elementary schools and their preschool partners, mostly State funded and Head Start. The Data Exchange project came out of this work and aligned with Marin First 5's 2018 Kindergarten Readiness focus.

The MCOE Evidence-Based Data Exchange project began in Fall 2020 as part of the P3 Initiative and K-Readiness with the goal of supporting alignment between Preschool and TK/Kindergarten teachers and reducing bias by sharing evidence-based and strengths-focused data. Preschool teachers meet with their former children’s new teachers to share information collected in the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) as well as a list of “10 Things I Want You to Know,” completed by both the preschool teacher and the family. In the Fall of 2022, families were invited to join these meetings and experience the collaborative efforts between the teachers.

As of 2024, funding continues to be provided by  First 5 Marin K Readiness Grant.
