These programs and organizations assist with various housing needs and other social services supports:

Public housing: The government operates public housing. Public housing is generally reserved for low-income households. In Marin County, public housing is managed by the Marin Housing Authority.

211 United Way is a general resource for locating assistance with housing and other needs. By dialing 211 on your phone, you will have immediate access to several local organizations that can assist you. Main Line: Dial 211

Doorway is an online portal for locating and applying for affordable housing throughout the Bay Area.

Community Action Marin offers a range of programs that assist with housing and everyday life needs. Programs include rental and utility assistance.  Main Line: (415) 526-7500

These programs supports and services for those potentially experiencing homelessness or in need of immediate services and supports:

Ritter Center assists homeless communities with resources to locate housing, rental assistance for individuals and families in poverty, case management services, and food. Main Line: (415) 457-8182

St. Vincent De Paul offers case management services, housing and crisis assistance programs, and free dining room services to those in need.  Main Line: (415) 454-3303 (Spanish x 15); Direct Help Line: (415) 454-0366

Homeward Bound of Marin provides shelter to homeless individuals, families, people struggling with mental illness, and veterans. Other programs include but are not limited to, case management services and assistance with obtaining housing.  Administration Office: (415) 382-3363

Gilead House homeless shelter provides a stable home environment for homeless single mothers and their children. Other programs include family advocacy, mental health services, and mentorship.  Main Line: (415) 895-5575

Center for Domestic Peace provides immediate shelter for abused or at risk of abuse, women, youth, children, and men. Programs include but are not limited to transitional housing, counseling services, support groups, and legal services.
