Assessment of the School Environment and School Wellness Policy
- The CDE Wellness Policy Evaluation Checklist was developed by the California Department of Education adapted from Minnesota Public Law Health Center Policy Checklist.
- School Health Index (SHI): Self-Assessment & Planning Guide: Developed by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), this is a self-assessment and planning tool that schools can use to improve their health and safety policies and programs.
- Healthy School Builder: Developed by the Alliance for Healthier Generation, it provides steps for assessing school environment and creating sustainable changes in schools.
- Well-SAT Tool for Assessing Local School Wellness Policies: Developed by the Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity
at Yale University, this is a free, online self-assessment tool, to evaluate the strength of local school wellness policies. - Healthy School Report Card: Developed by the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, is an online tool to create and monitor a healthy school improvement plan based on data that helps prioritize goals.
