Legal Update
Senate Bill (SB) 200 will become effective January 1, 2016. SB 200 provides that a student will have complied with the residency requirements for a school district. Attached is a copy of Addendum to Memo No. 19-2015 from School & College Legal Services regarding their last SB 200 Legal Update communication.

Sikh Awareness Month - November 2015
Assembly Concurrent Resolution 147 recognizes November 2015 as California Sikh American Awareness and Appreciation Month. The California Department of Education encourages local educational agencies to observe this resolution by conducting appropriate exercise to promote awareness of the contributions of Sikh Americans. Kindergarten through Community College Public Education Facilities Bond Act of 2016
The “Kindergarten through Community College Public Education Facilities Bond Act of 2016,” has been certified eligible for the November 7, 2016 general election ballot. This initiative was submitted by Californians for Quality Schools, an organization sponsored and funded by the Coalition for Adequate School Housing (C.A.S.H.) and the California Building Industry Association.
