HEALTHY YOUTH ACT
Assembly Bill (AB) 329
California Legislature passed Assembly Bill 329 into law. AB 329 requires school districts to provide sexual health education to students in grades 7 through 12. AB 329 amends Education Code sections 51930 through 51939 and renames the chapter the "Healthy Youth Act." AB 329 will be effective on January 1, 2016. Click here for the Legal Update.
Assembly Bill (AB) 331
Assembly Bill 331 was signed into law to authorize a county committee on district reorganization with a district of 300 or less to decrease the membership of the school district governing board from 5 to 3 in accordance with procedural requirements. Click here for the Legal Update.
Assembly Bill (AB) 1391
Assembly Bill 1391 was signed into law in response to a number of lawsuits statewide related to physical education minutes. The bill requires that a complaint be filed with the district through a uniform complaint process. Click here for the Legal Update.
