Assembly Bill 329 (AB 329)
Assembly Bill 329 (AB 329) was signed into law on October 1, 2015, and requires that school districts provide comprehensive sexual health education and HIV-prevention education to students in grades 7 through 12. AB 329 will be effective on January 1, 2016.
Marin County Joint Legislative Advisory Committee Legislative Action Day in Sacramento
Join Trustees and Superintendents on January 21, 2016 at the annual Marin County Joint Legislative Advisory Committee Legislative Action Day in Sacramento. The agenda will include some of the pressing current education issues including the state budget and budget reserve cap repeal, school facilities/school bonds, 2016 November ballot issues, LCFF updates, and other topics.
Understanding and Supporting Undocumented Students & Families
Understanding and Supporting Undocumented Students & Families workshop is being offered on February 3, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Marin County Office of Education in collaboration with 10,000 Degrees. Topics include laws and policies affecting students and families; understanding the overall experiences of students and families; and best practices for working with students. Lunch will be provided.
