Foster Youth

2016 Foster Youth Education Summit - April 11-12, 2016

This Summit will include discussions, presenters, and workshops detailing best practice ideas of comprehensive capacity building, practice and partnering that move LCFF forward.  Child Welfare staff, school district staff, Youth in Foster Care, Caregivers, Courts, and Advocates are among those encouraged to attend.  

Foster Youth Services

Nearly all districts have signed on to the Foster Focus Interagency Agreement.  We are continuing outreach to districts to solicit participation in the agreement, which will allow access to Foster Focus, the web-based system that allows for interagency sharing of foster youth data. 

Homeless & Foster Youth Student Support - April 28, 2016

The Marin County Office of Education is pleased to host special guest speakers from the California Department of Education's Coordinated Student Support Division on April 28th from 9:00-11:00 a.m.  The presentation by Lisa Guillen, Foster Youth Consultant, and Leanne Wheeler, Homeless Education Consultant, will be followed by a Q&A session.
