AB 86 - Adult Education Overview

Assembly Bill 86 Overview

The 2013-14 State Budget appropriated $25 million to the California Community College Chancellor's Office (CCCO) to allocate funding for two-year planning and implementation grants for adult education.  Marin received funding, being implemented through the College of Marin, to assess local needs and develop a regional plan for adult education.

The Marin AB 86 Consortium consists of representatives of Marin's adult education providers:  College of Marin, Novato Unified School District, Tamalpais Union High School District, San Quentin State Prison, and local agencies that serve as adult education partners.  A key goal is to develop a plan identifying Marin's needs, to be ready to apply for additional funding that may be available for adult education in the near future.
