Education Services - Distinguished Schools
The California Department of Education (CDE) has annually honored schools by naming them "Distinguished Schools (DS)" for a number of years. A school is identified as an eligible DS based on a variety of measures, one being standardized assessment result, most recently the California Standardized Testing (CST). Due to the elimination of CST the CDE is in the process of revamping the Distinguished Schools process. The new process will require schools to submit an Intent to Apply based on identified signature practices that are positively impacting student achievement. The information regarding the process will be released shortly.
Please note on an annual basis this program alternates between honoring elementary and middle/high schools programs. For the 2014-15 school year, middle and high schools will be highlighted. More information to come.
