Maintenance and Operations - Emergency Preparedness Council

The Marin Schools Emergency Preparedness Council met at the Marin County Office of Education on Thursday, November 13, 2014 and was well attended by teams from the Tam Unified HS District and Novato USD, as well as representatives from the San Rafael City School District, Kentfield, Ross Valley, Sausalito / Marin City, and two private / parochial schools, a representative of the North Marin Council PTA's, and members of the Marin Chapter of the American Red Cross. Topics covered included discussions of the recent lockdown experience at Redwood High School, discussion and review of the recent social media threat in Novato High Schools, further discussion and follow up of the Napa Valley earthquake lessons learned, District updates on the 2014 Great ShakeOut, monthly test of the Marin Schools Emergency Radio test, and the October 30, 2014 Annual Fall Parent Leader Workshop on Emergency Preparedness in Schools. The next Marin Schools Emergency Preparedness Council meeting is scheduled at the Marin County Office of Education from 9:30 - 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 8, 2015.
