Education Services - Gold Ribbon Schools (Distinguished Schools)
For the 2014-15 school year the Distinguished Schools program has been re-named the "California Gold Ribbon Schools Award" due to transition to a new application and eligibility process. The program will recognize California schools that have improved due to implementing Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
Schools may nominate themselves for the award based on a Model Program described in their application. Model programs should include standards-based activities, projects, strategies, and practices that schools have adopted and that can be replicated by other local education agencies. Schools that apply for the California Gold Ribbon Schools Award are also eligible to apply for Exemplary Program awards. Schools may apply for one or more awards in these areas: Career Technical, Arts Education, and Physical Activity and Nutrition Education.
Applications for the 2015 California Gold Ribbon Schools Award Program and any exemplary programs must be postmarked on or before Tuesday, January 20, 2015, in order to be eligible for consideration.
Attached is the list of schools in our County who may apply based on the eligibility criteria and below are links to the Intent to Apply, applications, and instructions.
