Education Services – February - Gold Ribbon

The Gold Ribbon Schools Award Program was developed by the California Department of Education as a way to continue to honor schools during the accountability transition.  This year, middle and high schools were eligible to self-nominate for the award by submitting an application by January 20.  In the application, schools were asked to describe a model program already in place to support the implementation of state standards. In addition, schools that applied for the Gold Ribbon Schools Award were also eligible to apply for an (optional) Exemplary Program Award in Career Technical Education, Arts Education, and/or Physical Activity and Nutrition Education.  Statewide, more than 2,800 schools were invited to apply, and CDE expects the award to be very competitive.  We anticipate that CDE will notify us in February of the schools that are selected to move on.  Site Validation visits for those selected sites should take place in March.

The schools listed below submitted an application for the Gold Ribbon Schools Award.

  • Davidson Middle School
  • Hall Middle School
