School Crossing Guard Program Update

Tom Lohwasser, Valerie Pitts and Mike Grant (MCOE) met with Diane Steinhauser and Dan Cherrier from the Transportation Authority of Marin (TAM) on March 17, 2015 to discuss the school crossing guard program, and strategies for moving forward. Specific information and data has been requested from TAM to bring to the Superintendents including Measure A requirements, Ed Code requirements, annual budget, a breakdown by district of the currently funded Crossing Guards, a breakdown of district funded guards (and funding sources), a breakdown by district of the next 30 crossing guards on the list, cost of additional guards, and data regarding crossing guards that also serve private schools. Data and information will be shared as soon as it is received.
